Coming to Vacaria for work? What you need to know first

4 min read

Sales representatives, doctors, field technicians and consultants arrive in Vacaria every week. A practical guide to location, getting around and what to expect from the town.

Most people who stay in Vacaria are not here on holiday. They are here to work.

Sales representatives covering the region, doctors on shift at local clinics, agribusiness field technicians, consultants, people sorting out paperwork. And the logic of business travel is different from leisure travel: what matters is arriving, getting things done, sleeping well and leaving on time.

This post is for those people.

Where you stay matters more than it seems

Vacaria has a compact centre. Banks, notaries, shops, restaurants and a good share of the offices sit in an area you can cover on foot in 15 minutes.

That changes the maths. If you stay in the centre, you park the car once and handle the whole day on foot. If you stay on the edge of town, every appointment becomes a drive.

For anyone with three or four visits scheduled in a day, that difference is what separates a productive day from one lost in traffic and hunting for a parking space.

Covered parking is not a luxury

Vacaria is one of the coldest towns in Brazil. In June and July, morning frost is the rule, not the exception.

Anyone who has had to scrape a windscreen at 7 am before heading to a meeting knows why covered parking makes the list. At Plaza, every guest has a covered space included: it is not an extra and it is not subject to availability.

Early breakfast

Business travellers usually leave before 8 am. A breakfast that only opens at 8:30 is useless.

Ours serves artisan breads, cold cuts, colonial cheese, fruit, homemade cakes, eggs and freshly brewed coffee. And it opens early enough for anyone with an 8 o’clock appointment.

Wi-Fi that works

It sounds basic, but it is not. Anyone who needs to send a report, join a call or log into a company system in the evening depends on it. We have Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.

Real blackout

Standard and Deluxe rooms have 100% blackout curtains. For someone who sleeps in a different room every week and needs to wake up rested, that counts more than any other detail of the room.

Getting here

  • From Porto Alegre: 240 km on the BR-116, about 3 hours
  • From Caxias do Sul: 116 km, about 1 h 30
  • From Lages (SC): 105 km, about 1 h 20
  • By air: the most practical airport is Caxias do Sul, 1 h 30 by car. Porto Alegre’s international airport is about 3 hours away.
